CHIMNEY FIRE ON TRENT ROAD
March 23 - At 19:56 hours, Station 21 was dispatched to 22 Trent Road for a building fire with reports of flames coming from the chimney. The call was immediately upgraded after the initial dispatch, bringing Station 26 (Narberth). Engine 21 and 21-53 (Paul Daly) arrived on location and reported sparks showing from the chimney. 21-53 called for incoming Ladder 21 to raise the main to the roof. Crews from Engine 21 and Ladder 21 were sent to the roof, and checked for extension inside the residence. The fire was extinguished using a dry chemical extinguisher and companies made themselves available.

DECON 21 STANDS BY FOR PRESIDENT BUSH VISIT
March 15 - Deputy Chief Ted Schmid, FF Tony Kopicki, FF Chris Millay, FF Chris Feder, FF Mark Gilbert, and FF Eric Norris, along with Engine 21, stood by at Station 313 (Narberth Ambulance) as the Decontamination Team for President George W. Bush's visit to Ardmore. The crew that attended were standing by as a precautionary measure for any immediate decon tasks that needed to be conducted for the flood of people who came to the Ardmore area for the President's visit. Personnel standing by, initially setup the decon rinse stations by laying out tarps and necessary cleaning supplies, hooking up the shower, and constructing the hazmat pools. Next, they suited up in protective gear to be prepared for a decon type situation. The day went by smooth and uneventful, and the crew did a superb job in preparation for action.
 
 

STATION 21 RECEIVES DECON EQUIPMENT
March 12 - Due to the recent initiative of Station 21 members receiving Hazmat Operations certifications and the visit of President George W. Bush upcoming on March 15, Penn Wynne Fire Company received decontamination equipment. Included in the supplies are many hazmat protective suits, decontamination pools, PVC hazmat shower, hose, scrub brushes, and various other items. The equipment will be readily available for any decontamination type situation that may be necessary.
 

VEHICLE INTO CREEK
March 1 - At 1810 hours, Station 21 and Squad 22 were dispatched to 1000 Wood Circle for a vehicle accident with rescue. Broomall Fire Company officer (53-13A) called in the incident and reported a subject was under a car in a creek. Crews from Squad 21 arrived first on scene and found a victim trapped under the front portion of a car, that had dropped 25 feet off the road into a creek. Squad 21 crews proceeded to lead off with an 1 ¾” hose line, air bags, 32” Jaws spreaders, and cribbing. Soon after, firefighters from Squad 22 arrived and provided additional cribbing and manpower for rescue operations. Personnel from companies 21 and 22 worked collectively to raise the car off of the victim to successfully extricate the victim from beneath the car. Narberth Ambulance efficiently secured the victim and transported the subject. An excellent job was performed by everyone on scene.
