At 10:05pm, Station 21 was dispatched to 6 Lancaster Ave. (Eastern Baptist Seminary) for a fire
alarm. Engine 21, under the command of 21-5 (Chief J. Fallon) with a crew of 6, went on location to find nothing showing
from the exterior. Upon further investigation, the smoke detector that activated was located in the laundry room and a light
smoke condition was observed. To mitigate the problem, the crew from Engine 21 opened up the lint collectors from the 5
commerical dryers. Discovered within, was a high volume of lint (pictured below) that obviously needed cleaning. In addition
to cleaning out the dryers, crews checked for extension by utilizing the thermal imaging camera and opening up
the dryer vent duct.

21 HOUSE GOES TO WORK ON DRAYTON LANE

1/14/05 Squad 21 Rescue 22 Station 23 Medic 313
Stations 21 (Penn Wynne) and 26 (Narberth) were dispatched to the 1200 block of Drayton Lane for a structure. Engine 21
arrived on location with smoke showing from the "D" side of a single family dwelling. Fire was burning up an exterior wall
of a living room with a cathedral ceiling. With the report of a working fire, the assignment was upgraded with Engine 23
(Bryn Mawr) for the FAST Team and Air 24 (Gladwyne) for the air truck. 21-54 (3rd Assistant Chief D. Watrous) took command.
The dwelling is located on the other side of Indian Creek and apparatus cannot go over the driveway bridge leading to the
house. Due to preplans having been in place, crews knew to stretch a 2.5" line across the bridge and to gate off with 2 -
1.75" attack lines. Crews from Engine 21 extinguished the fire and overhaul was conducted. A great job was done by all on
scene.
WEEKLY DRILL AT THE TOWER
Date:
1/12/05
Tonight, we started the Vehicle Rescue
Awareness class at the station. We had a great in-house turn out, and members from other companies also
attended. The members who already had this class went to the township burn tower for our monthly burn
drill. The township relief association is continuing their SCBA search and members tested the Scott
4.5 airpacks. We also still had the MSA packs, so members had a great opportunity to compare the two
packs. Members then practiced bail outs, using MSA's new integrated bail out system. A special thanks
to John Majors from The Fire Store in Downingtown for coming out and going over all of the great
features of MSA.

thank the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center for coming out and putting on another great class. If any area
