Date:
6/15/05
Tonight, members from the 21 House took Engine and Ladder 21 to
a house set for demolition that was acquired by the Lower Merion Fire Department to conduct various training
evolutions. Houses that we can train in are great training sites because they are the most realistic setting
available to conduct actual fireground evolutions. Tonight, the engine and ladder crews split up with the
engine company conducting RIT training, and the truck company conducting vertical ventilation evolutions.
Everyone who attended learned a lot by conducting these training evolutions.

PENN WYNNE FC SUPPORTS ALEX'S LEMONADE STAND
Date:
6/11/05
Today, members from the Penn Wynne Fire Company took Engine 21
to the Penn Wynne Elementary School to support
Alex's Lemonade Stand.
This annual event was started by
Alexandra "Alex" Scott in July of 2000 to benefit pediatric cancer research. Alex was diagnosed two days
before her first birthday with neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer. Unfortunately, Alex passed
away shortly after last year's lemonade sale, but her message and spirit to raise funds to find a cure for
childhood cancer continues to thrive. This year, Alex's Lemonade Stand was bigger than ever, with numerous
lemonade stands around the country. In addition, the original and largest lemonade stand held at the Penn
Wynne Elementary School in our first due featured some star-studded appearances by hip-hop artist Bow Wow,
76ers President and General Manager Billy King, Rocco the Janitor from Wired 96.5, the Hooters Girls, 76ers mascot Hip Hop,
musical artist Carly, and St. Joseph's University mascot the hawk and players from their basketball team.
All the members who attended had a fun time while supporting a good cause.
