TROPICAL STORM ERNESTO DUTY CREW
Date: 9/1/06 With the threat of Tropical Storm Ernesto delivering a deluge of rain accompanied by high winds for the Delware Valley, a crew of 6 members manned the firehouse overnight, ready for whatever Mother Nature had in store. With the exception of the fire alarm at Friends Central early in the evening, the night was quiet. The show that the night was uneventful, we woke up the next morning to find a large spider had used part of the Engine to secure a web he spun overnight. Saturday mid-morning the company responded down the block to Haverford and West Indian Creek Drive to assist the police in removing part of a tree that blocked the roadway. Then at noon time, Rescue 21 was dispatched as the F.A.S.T. team for the working fire in the 1500 block of Mt. Pleasant Road in Villanova. Companies 23 (Bryn Mawr), 24 (Gladwynne) and Engine 25 (Ardmore) operated at a working attic fire at this location.
