WEST COUNTY LINE ROAD HOUSE FIRE
Date: 2/27/07 At 00:54 hours, Station 21 was added to the building assignment for the 100 block of West County Line Road in Ardmore to assist Station 25 (Ardmore). The police quickly arrived and initially reported smoke showing, and then updated with fire showing in the rear. Chief 25 (Hayden Jr.) arrived, sized up the 2 story twin, confirmed the police report and established the 2-5 Command. Engine 21 was ordered to augment the street line to E-25, and its' crew was assigned to check the exposure for extension. Engine 25's crew reported heavy fire in the 1st floor rear, with extension to the 2nd floor. Engine and ladder 21 pulled a 1.75 line and began opening up in the exposure. Engine 23 (Bryn Mawr) was added to the assignment and assisted in opening up the 2nd floor rear of the exterior. The job was placed under control soon after the first 20 minute mark. Other responding units were Air 24, E-24 (Gladwyne) as the FAST Team, and Medic 313 (Narberth Ambulance).

PENN WYNNE SOCIAL (2/22/07 @ 8 PM)
Date: 2/22/07 Penn Wynne Fire Company's Annual Social will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2007 starting at 8 PM. FREE Food and Beverages will be sold. Throughout the night, a 50/50 drawing will be held and door prize tickets will be sold. All public safety personnel are invited.

ONE OVERTURNED ON WINDING WAY
Date: 2/13/07 At 15:49 hours, Station 28 (Union Fire Association), Rescue 22 (Belmont Hills), and Rescue 21 (Penn Wynne) were dispatched to 335 Winding Way for a vehicle accident with entrapment, vehicle reported overturned. Pipeline 28 with Assistant 28 arrived on scene and reported an overturned vehicle in the rear of the driveway. The female driver self-extricated herself and the rescue companies were returned as they arrived on location. Rescue 21 was available for service at 15:58 hours. This call was the fourth of a busy day for Penn Wynne during the first real winter storm of 2007.

ONE OVERTURNED AND TRAPPED ON SPRING MILL RD
Date: 2/13/07 At 1324 hours, Station 23 (Bryn Mawr), Rescue 22 (Belmont Hills), and Rescue 21 (Penn Wynne) were dispatched to the intersection of Spring Mill Road and Morris Avenue for a vehicle accident with entrapment, vehicle reported overturned. Assistant 24-2 was in the area and reported an overturned pick-up truck in front of 610 Spring Mill Road with one male inside. Squad 23 arrived and began vehicle stabilization. Rescue 21 arrived and worked with Squad 23 to complete stabilization, pop the driver's side door, and remove the driver's side third door. The male driver, who had very minor injuries, crawled out of the vehicle and graciouosly thanked all responding personnel. Rescue 21 was available for service at 1358 hours.

RESCUE GOES TO BRYN MAWR
Date: 2/11/07 At 3:33AM, Station 23 (Bryn Mawr), Rescue 22 (Belmont Hills), and Rescue 21 were dispatched to the north side of the Rosemont train station for a vehicle rescue. Chief 23 (Gallagher) arrived and reported one vehilce on its side with one person trapped. Rescue 21 arrived and assisted Squad 23's crew with stabilization and performing a roof flap. The company went available at 4:10AM.

RUSH HOUR DOOR POP
Date: 2/5/07 At 7:26 AM the rescue assignment was dispatched to Montgomery and Merion Roads in the Merion section of the township. Deputy 28 (Weber) arrived and reported one door to go. Rescue 21 arrived, cribbed the vehicle, went in service with the Maverick tool, and had to door popped in a minute. The company then went availabe for service. Responding units: Pipeline 28, Rescue 22, Rescue 21 and Medic 313. Deputy 28 had the command.

FIRE SAFETY TIP
Date: 2/1/07 EMMITSBURG, MD. - The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) announced the release of a report today regarding residential building clothes dryer fires. Between the years 2002-2004, an annual average of 12,700 clothes dryer fires occurred in residential buildings. These fires were responsible for an estimated 15 civilian fire deaths, 300 civilian fire injuries, and $88 million in property loss each year. For more information, click the link below.
