KICK-OFF FOR LEMONADE DAYS 2007
Date: 6/7/07 Tonight, members of the brigade and our extended family traveled downtown to the CBS3 studios for a phone bank fund raiser supporting Alex's Lemonade Stand. The group staffed phones accepting donations on behalf of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Deputy Chief Ted Schmid was interviewed by Alycia Lane discussing the affiliation between the Penn Wynne Fire Company and the Stand. We were happy to see our friends from The Stand and suport them in their mission of Alex's dream.

2007 LMFD COMPETITION CHAMPS
Date: 6/2/07 Township companies and Narberth Boro got together today for the 2nd Annual Lower Merion Fire Deparment Firefighter Compitition, held at The Haverford School. It was a great day of firefighter camaraderie, despite the hot and humid conditions. Companies competed in 5 events: fastest dress, charge and attack, water soccer, bucket brigade, and an obstacle couse. Our team consisted of Deputy Chief Schmid, Asst. Chief Watrous, Firefighter's Feder, Pat DeHoratius, Dan Gilbert, Mark Gilbert, and Junior Firefighter Ruth. The team won first place in fastest dress and water soccer, and second place in the obstacle course. Members knew that the scores were close, and it was anyones guess who won. Following the competition was the LMFD barbeque held at the Baldwin School where they announced the winner. Third place went to Bryn Mawr, and there was a tie for first place between Penn Wynne and Belmont Hills. The tie breaker criteria was the team with the better time in the obstacle couse, which was Penn Wynne. An excellent effort to all of the participants.

Special thanks go to our sponsors who financially supported us in the competition. Our sponsors were the Penn Wynne Business Association, PT Plus (Tony Marziano), and Robert Martin, New York Life Agent. All winnings associated with first place will be donated to our charity of choice, Alex's Lemonade Stand.
