The Penn Wynne-Overbrook Hills Fire Company is always looking for new members!

Be a part of one of the largest combination paid & volunteer fire departments in the state of Pennsylvania. Volunteering in the fire service is a unique experience that can be as rewarding and educational as you choose to make it. Motivation, dedication, and professionalism are qualities that successful volunteers must possess. Members of the Penn Wynne-Overbrook Hills Fire Company not only possess these qualities but are continuously seeking to further their knowledge.

The Penn Wynne-Overbrook Hills Fire Company is part of the Lower Merion Fire Department.  Our first-due response area includes the communities of South Ardmore, Wynnewood, Penfield Downs, Penn Wynne, Overbrook Hills, and Green Hill Farms. In addition, Penn Wynne also provides automatic fire and rescue services to the entirety of Lower Merion Township.

We accept all members who are able to perform the skills required to do this passion. Also, with our junior firefighting program, we welcome individuals starting from the age of 16 to learn, train and participate on their paths to becoming a firefighter.

Membership Benefits:

Free Training: Firefighting, rescue, and medical training is paid for by the Fire Company. Members are encouraged to attend various schools of their choice.  Members are able to attend training sessions, conferences, and expos both locally and
nationally at the expense of the Fire Company.

Incentives: Free gym memberships, clothing & gear, parking permits, tax rebates, access to social events, scholarships, and tuition reimbursement are just some of the many perks to being a firefighter!
 

Access to the Firehouse: The firehouse is open 24/7 to our volunteers. You are welcome to hang out, work from, or just be at the firehouse whenever you want. We provide snacks and drinks for our members for when they are around.

Equipment: Train with and utilize state-of-the-art fire and rescue apparatus and equipment. We are always looking to get the latest and greatest equipment that allows us to use progressive, successful tactics.

Resume Building: Nothing looks better to prospective employers, colleges, and universities than volunteering in the fire and rescue services.
